Register to Vote

In North Carolina, you must register to vote prior to voting.  In 2018, all voter registration forms must be received by the county board of elections within 25 days of election day.  You may also register to vote and vote on the same day at the One-Stop Early Vote Site.


Absentee Voting

Any North Carolina registered voter can request and receive a by-mail absentee ballot. To request a mail-in absentee ballot for the election, fill out and mail this form and mail it to your county's Board of Elections.

One-Stop Early Vote
One-Stop Early Vote for the November general election begins on October 17, 2018. All registered voters may vote at any of the One-Stop Voting Sites in the county where they are registered. Each county will operate different schedules for their One-Stop Early Vote locations. The last day for One-Stop Early Vote is November 3. Click below for county-specific information:

Election Day

In 2018, the North Carolina General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 6. On election day, voters may only vote in their assigned precinct. To find out the location of your assigned precinct, click here. On Election Day, you may vote at your assigned precinct anytime between 6:30am and 7:30pm. All voters that are in line at 7:30pm will be permitted to vote.
