NC Sheriff Police Alliance Endorses David Price

CARY – Today, the North Carolina Sheriff Police Alliance announced its endorsement of Rep. David Price in the North Carolina Fourth Congressional district race.

In a letter announcing its support for Rep. Price, the group’s President Andy Miller wrote, “It is with great pride and confidence that we endorse your election for the U.S. House of Representatives. Your dedication, honesty and hard work on behalf of the citizens of the North Carolina 4th Congressional District will set the example for other leaders throughout the state to follow.”

Rep. Price, who chairs the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, has worked in Congress to ensure local first responders and law enforcement officers have the tools they need to keep Triangle residents safe.  As Chairman, he has spearheaded efforts to provide law enforcement agencies with interoperable communications equipment following recommendations from the 9/11 Commission.  This Congress, Rep. Price fought to preserve public safety jobs, voting to provide unprecedented grant funding to retain local police and sheriff’s deputy positions through the Recovery Act.  He worked on his committee to also boost support for firefighters who are facing job cuts due to strained local budgets.

“It is an honor to have the NC Sheriff Police Alliance’s endorsement,” Rep. Price said.  “Triangle families can count on me to fight for all of our Homeland Security professionals, including the local law enforcement officers who work to keep our communities safe.  Our local public safety professionals play an integral role in our homeland security because they are often the first on the scene responding to a disaster.  They are also the most likely to spot the activity of homegrown terrorist cells.”
